Delineating the people-related features required for construction digitalisation

Purpose Digitalisation, which involves the use of digital technologies in transforming an organisation’s activities, transcends just acquiring emerging tools. Having right people to drive implementation these and attaining strategic organisational goals is essential. While most studies have focused on construction industry, less attention has been given ‘people’ dimension. Therefore, this study aims assess people-related features needed for digitalisation. Design/methodology/approach The adopted pragmatic thinking using a mixed-method approach. A Delphi was used achieve qualitative aspect research, while questionnaire survey conducted among 222 professionals quantitative aspect. data gathered were analysed frequency, percentage, mean item score, Kruskal–Wallis H test, exploratory factor analysis confirmatory analysis. Findings Based acceptable reliability, validity model fit indices, found that factors digitalisation can be grouped into technical capability personnel, attracting retaining talent culture. Practical implications findings offer valuable benefits organisations as understanding identified help lead better deployment tools attainment transformation. Originality/value This attempts fill gap shortage literature exploring dimension offers excellent theoretical backdrop future works digitalisation, gained current discourse.
